Tide of Arab Opinion Turns to Support for Hezbollah
Remember a few days ago when some of the Aram Muslim nations dissed Hezbollah for starting all this mess in Israel and Lebanon?
DAMASCUS, Syria, July 27 — At the onset of the Lebanese crisis, Arab governments, starting with Saudi Arabia, slammed Hezbollah for recklessly provoking a war, providing what the United States and Israel took as a wink and a nod to continue the fight.
Well, guess what? They saw Israel could actually do something about it but, because the Hezbollah terrorists hide among civilians like cowards and, as a result, Israel killed some civilians in the process of killing the terrorists, they all changed their minds and are now dissing Israel! Is anyone surprised? Not me.
Our friends, the Saudis and King Abdullah II of Jordan:
"The Saudi royal family and King Abdullah II of Jordan, who were initially more worried about the rising power of Shiite Iran, Hezbollah’s main sponsor, are scrambling to distance themselves from Washington."
Golly, I wonder what got into our new friends, the Saudis and the Jordanians?
"The Saudi royal court has issued a dire warning that its 2002 peace plan — offering Israel full recognition by all Arab states in exchange for returning to the borders that predated the 1967 Arab-Israeli war — could well perish."
Even Egypt got into the act:
Distinctive changes in tone are audible throughout the Sunni world. This week, President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt emphasized his attempts to arrange a cease-fire to protect all sects in Lebanon, while the Jordanian king announced that his country was dispatching medical teams “for the victims of Israeli aggression.” Both countries have peace treaties with Israel.
Remember how Al Quaida Sunnis hate the Hezbollah Shiites? well, it seem they got over that. Now, together, they can hate Israel; as if anything changed!
Even Al Qaeda, run by violent Sunni Muslim extremists normally hostile to all Shiites, has gotten into the act, with its deputy leader, Ayman al-Zawahri, releasing a taped message saying that through its fighting in Iraq, his organization was also trying to liberate Palestine.
...American officials say that while the Arab leaders need to take a harder line publicly for domestic political reasons, what matters more is what they tell the United States in private, which the Americans still see as a wink and a nod.
I wonder what else the Arabs tell US officials (particularly George Bush) 'in private'?
Like I said, none of this surprises me and it shouldn't surprise you. Regardless who starts these set-tos between the Israelis and Arabs, the Israelis will always be at fault. Know why? Because the Arabs are all Muslims and will never be friends of Israel.
And they'll never be our friends for the same reason. We're free individuals and the Muslims hate us for it.
No one can order me to pray toward Hondo, Texas, five times a day and I'll never carry a prayer rug. Anytime I get down on my knees outside, it'll be to dig worms for fish bait!
The Muslims are slaves to the figment of Mohammeds' imagination, allah, and are required to stay that way or die by the government of Islam, either by being stoned to death (not uppers,-but rocks-real stones) or have their heads cut off.
Well, folks, don't be surprised at anything that happens because the 'aggressive' Israelis are doing what is right by defending themselves. The Muslims will never stand for 'RIGHT' as long as there is a Jew or Christian alive. You can count on that!
"All Hail the Muslim Crusade!"
Later...
