It's Time To Tell It Like It Is...Is There a Conspiracy ...

afoot between Bill Clinton, George W Bush and the major oil companies?

What a terrible concept! Can it be that our President and the last Democrat President are conspiring to place this nation into a position of having to depend on third world and Muslim nations for our energy?

Let's look at the facts.

Fact One:In the state of Utah lies buried the largest known deposit of coal in the world. When Bill Clinton was president, by executive order he made that area a National Park. There can be no mining in a National park!

Kentucky-based company Andalux Resources, which holds leases on 3,400 acres in the area, was planning to open a huge operation (underground, not strip mining) that would have generated 1,000 jobs, $1 million in annual revenue for Kane County, and at least $10 million a year in state and federal taxes, according to the New York Times. Folks living in the area wore black arm bands the day of the signing - but Clinton didn't see them. He chose to make his announcement in a neighboring state.

Fact Two:When George W Bush was running for his second term, he promised to do whatever was necessary to open ANWAR to drilling for oil. Now he says there is nothing he can do about the ridiculously high price of oil. He says it is the world market that caused the price of crude to go up. He discounts the fact that major oil companies, Exxon for instance, have made extras of billions of dollars from the American consumers while claiming that they, too, are powerless to do anything about the tripling of the price of crude in a year.

They, the oil giants, are lying, of course, the same as our President is lying.

I seem to recall another time in the past when we were lied to that one of our presidents publicly stated that this nation would begin drilling immediatley for our own oil; the price of OPEC oil dropped back to 20 bucks overnight! I can't help but wonder if our President as well as the oil companies is making money off us. As bad as that sounds, the only other reason for his inactivity is to weaken our nation and put us further under the control of OPEC.

Fact Three: There is more crude oil under the states of Colorado and Utah than is in the entire middle east!

In an e-mail I received today from 'Early To Rise', I got this announcement:

The U.S. Govt’s Secret Colorado Oil Discovery

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world — more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. Three companies have been chosen to lead the way. Test drilling has already begun…

Dear Reader, Five months ago, the U.S. Energy Department announced the results of a land survey…

It was conducted to determine the official amount of oil a thousand feet deep in the Rocky Mountains… They reported this stunning news:

We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth.

Here are the official estimates: 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia 18-times as much oil as Iraq 21-times as much oil as Kuwait 22-times as much oil as Iran 500-times as much oil as Yemen …And it’s all right here in the Western United States.

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says, “We’ve got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East.” More than 2 TRILLION barrels. Untapped.

“That’s more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today,” reports The Denver Post.

When asked about America’s least-publicized oil supply, Utah Senator Orrin Hatch said: “The amounts of oil are staggering. Who would have guessed that in just Colorado and Utah, there is more recoverable oil than in the Middle East?”

If all this is true, then you tell me, why hasn't our President talked about it to us and to the world? He must know that if this news were talked up by him and the press, OPEC would immediately lower their price of crude oil.

I have a bad feeling about our federal government, the President in particular. I don't feel he has the best interests of our nation at heart in how he is running this country right now.

His lax stance on illegal immigration is another sign that he needs to be replaced.

Believe me, there are no sour grapes here. I voted for Bush twice and now I regret it. There is no up-side to having a completely Republican Government as there should be. President Bush has guaranteed the Democrats an equal place in our government, AS IT SHOULDN'T BE! I've been a Republican since 1965. I don't know what to be now.

I'll leave it to you to read the articles in these links and make your own decision about what's right and wrong.

FYI: I will send a copy of this to the President!

Later...

I don't think it's so much a conspiracy between the two as it is a general lack of courage. I don't think either of them have any interest in fighting the environmentalists in order to tap into domestic sources of oil.

Great post!

Gary had two comments that pointed out that most of the oil deposits referred to are in the form of oil shale. The linked articles made that clear so I didn't feel it necessary to mention it. The process for separating the oil from shale is much cheaper now than it has been in the past.

nightcrawler, you may be right. That would explain the inactivity. However, as a lame duck president, Bush has nothing at all to lose by acting on his promises. Right now he is within a point of being the most hated president in recent history, according to the polls. (Nixon is ahead of him)

I also voted for Bush twice. I have this feeling that he and Vincente Fox have some kind of an agreement. The president seem's to have turned his back on the American people. I don't know how much more they expect American's to take. We're suppose to support the entire world? I, for one am sick of it. Theyre talking about cutting Senoir's social security.I read 1,849 trillion dollars is owed to the social security trust fund and they just voted down a bill that would have stopped them from taking money out of it.Congrss want's a 3 million dollar Congressional Gym.DO YOU BELIEVE THAT? Bush is talking of letting the one's that have been here five year's or more stay. The one's that gave been here that long, have been breaking our law's the longest! I thought our government was ...for the people and by the people. What a joke!!!! They're going to do as they dam well please. They don't care waht we think!!!!!!!!!
