Ga. Student Suspended for Threatening Song...
Beth Ann Cox, 16, a junior at Peachtree Ridge High School, said she had been humming the song during German class but denied singing loudly or directing the lyrics at her teacher, Phil Carroll."I'd had a song stuck in my head all day, like the tune of it," she said. "This kid in front of me asked me about the song. So I told him the words. I didn't say them loudly."
Cute kid! She says she's had the words running through her mind all day:

I recognize that song! It's, "On Top Of Old Smokey, right?" Right! Nothing wrong with that song! It's a family sing-along favorite...'oops'... Except the words have been changed a bit. This's what cute little Beth Anne is quietly humming:
The song includes the lyrics: "On top of Ol' Smokey, all covered with blood, I shot my poor teacher with a .44 slug."
Boy, I'll bet her parents will really punish her now for her mis-conduct and getting suspended from school!...'oops...again? You got it!
Here's good old Mom to the rescue!

Right, Mrs Cox! Attaway, Mom, don't let the stupid teacher and school take advantage of your baby girls' right to hum an innocent song in class!
These damned teachers and schools always blow everything out of proportion! Kids will be kids and all your baby girl did was hum a little tune; After all, she's only 16 and everyone knows KIDS AT THAT AGE DO SILLY THINGS AND IT NEVER REALLY MEANS ANYTHING! NO ONE EVER GETS HURT OR ANYTHING! RIGHT?...RIGHT?...
Sure; Right! I agree. The teacher and school overreacted. Beth Anne shouldn't have been suspended. I think we all agree on that. Most people who understand children agree with that. Just ask the friends and family of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, a couple of cute tenny-boppers who attended Columbine High School over in Colorado. I mean, they sort of dis-rupted things but not for long. Their dis-ruption only lasted about 16 minutes!
But those folks there understand and it's all over now. Hardly anyone even remembers what happened there anymore.
In all cerealness, Suzy, you better consider taking a hair brush and spanking some ass instead of making excuses for your teeny-brat!
And where's Dad while all this's going on? Maybe we need a mans' hand here! (yeah, across his kids ass and across his wifes' mouth!)
Or both you parents can call Columbine High School and ask what Eric and Dylans' folks did when they first noticed their babies were acting up at school! Think about it.

If you heard about it, it definitely made the local news. I'm sure the school will get the ridicule they deserve.
Yeah...If this girls parents don't discipline her, I think the school should expel her for good. A teacher can't be effective wondering when he'll get a bullet in his brain. If you put a bad apple in with other apples and leave it, they all become bad. I think even kids have to be held accountable for their actions.
If only you big mouth opininated people knew what you were talking about. Although, everyone is entitled to their opinion whether it be assanine or not. Did ya know it took the POOR teacher 31/2 hours to tell the Ap that he was concerned his life was threatened? Did ya know the AP didn't ask anyone in the calss what happenned? Did ya now they didn't even call the parents the day it heppenned to tell them they were concerned? Did ya know Beth Anne is has cheered for the school? Been an athletic trainer for the school, sung the national anthem at all sporting events at the school. never had any prior history of discipline AT ALL in 3 years at the school? GET YOU FACTS STRAIGHT SO YOU CAN MAKE AN INTELLIGENT COMMENT ABOUT THE SITUATION!!!!
KNOWING BETH ANNE AND HER FAMILY PERSONALLY I CAN ASSURE YOU BOTH PARENTS ARE ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN HER LIFE. SHE IS A VERY WELL ADJUSTED YOUNG LADY WITH A SUCCESSFUL FUTURE AHEAD OF HER. COMPARING HER WITH THE BOYS AT COLUMBINE IS JUST OUTRAGEOUS. I'M SURE YOU MUST HAVE BEEN A PERFECT CHILD AND/OR RAISING PERFECT CHILDREN SO YOU ARE JUSTIFIED IN PUTTING YOUR COMMENTS OUT HERE FOR ALL TO SEE. KUDOS TO YOU!!
Does anyone else see the irony in JC's posting? While ranting about the violence in schools and how Beth Anne should be punished he/she is also suggesting that mom & dad spank or smack her and dad should smack mom in the mouth. I guess JC thinks violence will solve this situation. Great solution JC. And we wonder where kids come up with this stuff.
